Obituary

Lucie Fain King 94 passed away peacefully at home on March 25 2007. She was born in Plainview Texas on December 28 1912 and came to Daytona Beach from Alabama in 1939. She was active in the Daytona Garden Club a charter member of the Daytona Beach Lioness Club and "Lioness of the Year" past Regent of the Abigail Bartholomew Chapter of the DAR and a member of United Presbyterian Church. Her hobbies included gardening sewing and traveling but her passion was her family. She was affectionately known as "Grammie" to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She leaves to cherish her memory her loving and devoted husband of 68 years William G. King; one son William and his wife Mary of Jacksonville FL; four adoring grandchildren Karen Fowler (Brian) of Tega Cay SC Kendall King (Phyllis) of Cary NC David King (Christina) of Raleigh NC and Daniel King (Gina) of Bradenton FL; four great grandchildren Max King Bryn Fowler Cameron King and Emily King. Also surviving are two sisters Era Bell Veal of Birmingham AL and Elizabeth Mattox of Ashland AL and two sisters-in-law Sara Fain of Tallahassee FL and Obera Fain of LaMesa CA. The family will gather for a viewing at the Daytona Chapel of Lohman Funeral Homes 1423 Bellevue Avenue on Wednesday March 28 2007 at 12 noon. Private family service will follow at Daytona Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in honor of Lucie to: Hospice of Volusia/Flagler 3800 Woodbriar Trail Port Orange FL 32129 or to the charity of your choice.
