Lucia A. DeMueller of Daytona Beach, Florida passed away Wednesday May 19, 2021. Visitation will be from 1-4pm on Saturday May 22, 2021 at Lohman Funeral Home Port Orange, 1201 Dunlawton Avenue, Port Orange Florida 32127. Lucia was born in Manizales Colombia to Mrs. Soledad Villegas Aristizabal and Ricardo Aristizabal on August 14, 1937.

Lucia was an avid reader and loved classical music. She continuously aspired to learn and grow as a person. She acquired her first degree in journalism while attending the University of Caldas, followed by her Masters in Business later from New York University.  Before retirement, she sought to further understand the aging process and went on to obtain a degree in Gerontology.

Lucia married Harold Charles Mueller in New York City on February 26, 1966,  and had twin daughters: Anne Marie and Christine.
One of her greatest joys was in helping others and getting involved within the community.  She was a member of the National Defense Executive Reserves as well as the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and was called upon on several occasions to help coordinate relief efforts.

Lucia is preceded in death by her husband Harold Mueller, sister Margarita Aristizabal, brothers Carol Aristizabal (1), Carlos Aristizabal (2), Fabio Aristizabal.

Lucia is survived by daughters Anne Marie Marcan, Christine Mueller, sisters Beatriz Tobon, Alicia Llano, brother Jaime Aristizabal, grand children: Thomas Giove, Kevin Giove, Ryan Williams, Stephen Marcan, Kaitlin Marcan and great grandchildren: Marcel Marcan and Maverick Marcan.

The daughters wish to send a special thank you to her all of her family and friends for their love, care and friendship throughout her life.  We also would like to extend a special thank you to Halifax Hospice.
