Obituary

Louise Lawson Tozer , 93, of Ormond Beach, Florida, died on Tuesday, April 24, 2018. A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, May 5 at 1:30pm at Central Baptist Church, Daytona Beach. There will be a reception immediately following the service. Louise was born on January 2, 1925 in Vernon, Texas and was raised by her beloved family in Greensboro, Alabama. Louise's family was full of strong women from whom she gained many of her best qualities. At the age of 20, Louise moved to Daytona Beach where she eventually met her husband Aiden. Throughout their marriage Louise supported Aiden by keeping the books for his business, Tozer Construction. When she wasn't helping Aiden she was a caring stay-at-home mother for her three daughters. A talented and creative woman, Louise excelled at any craft she took on. From sewing and quilting, to beading and knitting, her family treasures the beautiful hand-made items she gifted them each year for Christmas. Louise was known for being social and outgoing, and after more than 50 years as members at both Central Baptist Church and Riviera Country Club, she and Aiden collected an uncountable number for dear friends, as Aiden always said, "it takes us forever to get anywhere because Louise has to talk to everyone in the building before we can leave." Above all, Louise was the glue that kept her family together, and she was deeply proud of her children, grandchildren, and especially her two great-granddaughters Violet and Avery. Louise was preceded in death by her parents, Ida Louise and Robert Hilliard Smith , and her husband Aiden W. Tozer, Jr. She was survived by her daughters, Ann Wood (Michael), Rebecca Tozer, and Louise Tozer (Andrea Cain); her grandchildren Jennifer Silva, Sarah Wood, Adrienne Freeland, and Geoffrey Boyle; and her great-grandchildren Violet and Avery. In lieu of flowers, Louise's family asks that contributions be made in her memory to Halifax Hospice in Ormond Beach, or the youth program at Central Baptist Church, Daytona Beach. Arrangements are under the careful direction of Lohman Funeral Home Ormond. Condolences and memories are welcome to be shared with the family via this online guestbook.
