Louise Kalisz Cahen 76, beloved mother of Deann Turney and David Cahen passed away, peacefully, in her home surrounded by her family on Sunday, January 2, 2022.
Louise was born in Hartford, Connecticut, August 14,1945, the daughter of the late Harriett Burgess Kalish (Kalisz). Louise was employed by the City of Daytona Beach for 33 years as a Liability Claims Specialist. She also dedicated her life to others through her service work with New Horizons Service Dogs, Inc a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that partners trained dogs with the disabled.
Louise was a devoted daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and aunt. She was a loyal friend, the wild and crazy coworker, an avid golfer, a Steelers fan, and a dedicated public servant. She showed up, never gave up on anyone, fought for her life until the very end, and loved big. She was loved by all and will be missed.
Louise is survived by her children Deann, David, and Levi, her grandchildren Brianna, Dominick, Knox, and Reef, her niece LuAnn, and her grandniece Hannah.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 22, 2022 beginning at 3:00 p.m., and a reception will take place upon conclusion of the service.
