Obituary

Louis A. Verrone, 91, of Ormond Beach, Florida, passed away on September 26, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. Visitations will be held at Lohman Funeral Home Ormond on Thursday, October 1, 2015 from 1:00-3:00 p.m., and also 6:00-8:00 p.m. A funeral mass will be held Friday, October 2, 2015 at 10:00 a. m. at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 600 S. Nova Road, Ormond Beach.

Louis was born in New York, New York to Frank and Sebastiana Verrone. He proudly served his country in the U. S. Army during World War II, fighting in the Battle of the Bulge and he received several service medals. Louis joined the Civil Air Patrol where he volunteered his time as a First Lieutenant Officer. He worked as an Electrical Engineer for Swivelier in Nanuet, New York for 25 years. Upon retirement he pursued many successful entrepreneurial endeavors, his latest as a real estate investor. Louis was a passionate pilot, sailor, and inventor. When he wasn't traveling the world and spending time with his family, he was an active member of the Sons of Italy, the VFW, and enjoyed amateur ham radios. A fountainhead of knowledge and always a source of inspiration, he has left behind a rich harvest of memories to cherish, honor, and emulate.

Louis will be greatly missed by his two daughters Rosemarie (Ken) Moorhouse, Cathy D'Loughy, four grandchildren Ken (Carla) Moorhouse, Ryan (Maritza) Moorhouse, Lea D'Loughy (fianc Sean Donovan), Michael Moorhouse (fianc Donna LaBarge), six great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister Madeline Mangiamele of Amelia Island, Florida, his sister-in-law Iris Verrone of Palm Coast, Florida and numerous loving nieces and nephews. Louis is predeceased by his wife Rosemary, and his brother Gustave F. Verrone.
