Louis R. Ralston Obituary
Louis Ralston passed away Monday, June 9th at the young age of 31. Louis was born to Kimberly (Kosorok/Ralston) Carnago and Stephen Ralston on June 22, 1993, in the town of Chester, Pennsylvania. For primary school, he attended Sacred Heart Catholic School in New Smyrna Beach, FL and continued his catholic school education by attending Father Lopez High School in Daytona Beach.
While earning an associate's degree in criminal justice from Daytona State College, he was a dedicated security officer at Daytona's Ocean Walk Resort. After acquiring Condo safety and Security experience, Louis went on to become a police officer for the City of Daytona Beach Police Department, where he was awarded multiple service accreditations, a Medal of Valor and a Unit Commendation. After giving multiple years of service to Daytona Beach Police Department, Louis went on to become an LCAM; and in 2021, he teamed up with his brother-in-law and started a local property management company, Tempest Community Management, later hiring his mother to work with him.
He was a gentle giant with a big heart. Everyone who met and knew him thought of him as a big teddy bear who could calm any situation and make you feel safe. With his large heart, Louis was a kind and loving son, brother, and uncle who gave wonderful bear hugs. Family and friends meant the world to him. He would go out of his way to spend as much time with them as he could: Traveling to Savannah for St. Patrick's Day to camp out at the square with his dad and attend the celebration with his stepmom and family. Having lunch with his mom every day at the office. Cheering and supporting his stepfather for numerous triathlons and runs. Staying up until 2am playing games with his brother and sister-in-law. Freezing their butts off together in the ICE exhibition at Gaylord Palms and going to theme parks with his brothers, sisters, nieces and nephew. His nieces loved visiting him at his office and having office chair races with Uncle Louis racing them while wearing a stuffed bear on his head. He took time to build their Elsa tent for them and play with them any time he could.
He was always willing to lend a hand to others. You could find him volunteering with the Knights of Columbus Counsel 8086 at Daytona International Speedway, the Pancake breakfast, or at Habitat for Humanity. He was also active in the Rotary Club SEV Golf, helping with the golf tournament, putting contest, and enjoying the trivia nights. He was always helping strangers, neighbors and friends- helping put groceries away, opening doors, checking on them in the middle of the night. He was passionate about reading, gaming, baking desserts, and music. It was always fun to see him light up as he talked about the most recent Sci-Fi (H.B Piper) or Fantasy book he picked up, the newest game he played, band he discovered, or dessert he wanted to try making for everyone.
Louis was preceded in death by his grandfather, Louis Anthony Kosorok, grandmother Bonnie Kosorok, grandmother and grandfather Caroline Sue and Howard Fairchild, grandfather Jerry Hipp, aunt Colleen Hipp, and Uncle Dieter Jungclaus. He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Kimberly and Timothy Carnago, his father and stepmother, Stephen Ralston and Doranne Hipp Ralston; oldest brother and partner, Stephen-Louis and AJ Reed; Brother and sister-in-law, Anthony and Ellerie Ralston; only sister and brother-in-law Jacqueline and Andrew Helmus, nephew Landon, nieces, Juliette and Arabella; uncle and aunt Rob and Becky Ralston; uncle Howie Kahler; aunt and uncle Yvonne and Doug Kelton, aunt and uncle Rose and Mike Carney, aunt and uncle Deb and John Dougherty; aunt Joanne Jungclaus, brother and sister-in-law Kevin and Lisa Carnago, nieces Gloria and Bri; sister and spouse Stephanie Carnago and Cornell Daniels; brother Rob Carnago, niece Carson; grandmother Ann Hipp; uncle and aunt Tom and Lisa Hipp; and other extended family.
