Louis G. Raffio Sr. , 93, of Palm Coast, passed away peacefully at his home on June 5, 2018. He was born in New Rochelle, NY on July 29, 1924 to Emilio and Carmella Raffio. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and proudly served his country as a "radio man" during World War II.  Known to friends as "Lou", he retired after 31 years as a Firefighter in Pelham, NY. He moved to the Palm Coast area in 1994 from New York. He was fan of the New York Yankees and enjoyed tending to his tomato and pepper plants and tinkering in his garage. He could fix almost anything and spent hours working on his riding mower and taking care of his in ground pool.  He was a loving husband, father and grandfather, uncle and friend to everyone who met him. He was always quick to strike up a conversation wherever he went – from Publix to Kohl's – and was known for his friendly demeanor. He was truly loved by his family and most everyone he came across. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Una D. Raffio; two sons, Louis Raffio, Jr. of New Rochelle, NY and Kenneth (Mayra) Raffio of Pelham, NY; a daughter, Christine (DeWitt) Sullivan of Briarcliff Manor, NY; his grandchildren, Chiara, Kyle and Colin Raffio, Callie, Ryan, Jack and Ellie Sullivan and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers Leo, Alexander, Dominick and Alfred Raffio as well as his granddaughter Grace Sullivan. A Visitation will be held from 2:00pm-3:00pm on Saturday June 9, 2018 in the Chapel at Lohman Funeral Home Palm Coast, 220 Palm Coast Parkway SW, with a Vigil Service being held at 3:00pm.
