A Celebration of Life for Louis A. Alexander 77 of Beaver Lake Circle Ormond Beach who passed away on Tuesday November 28 2006 at Ormond Memorial Hospital will be held on Friday December 8 2006 at 11 AM at The Lohman Funeral Home Ormond Beach Chapel The family will be receiving friends at the Funeral Home Friday from 10 AM until 11 AM. Surviving him are his Wife Edna Marie 3 Sons Kenneth Alexander Louis and his wife Gail Alexander Stephen and his wife Francine Alexander all of Rochester NY a Daughter Kim Alvarez Rochester NY 3 Granddaughters 3 Great Granddaughters 5 Step Children Kelly Taber Ormond Beach Tracey and her husband David Snow Colorado Liz and her husband Pierce Sloan Rochester NY Thomas and his wife Diane Taber Texas Christopher Taber New York City and 6 Step Grandchildren. Louis was born August 23 1929 in Wilimatic CT the son of Louis and Anna Marie Larson Alexander. He married Edna Marie Taber in 1985. He served in The US Navy from 1951 until 1953. As a student at The University of Rochester Louis was an accomplished Athlete. He was captain of his basketball team and most valuable player in 1950 and 1951. He was a member of the baseball team. He achieved a Bachelor degree in Business Administration in 1951. He was inducted into the University of Rochester Sports Hall of Fame in October of 2001. Louis was very proud of career as base ball and basketball coach and Athletic Director at The Rochester Institute of Technology. He was employed there from 1955 until retirement in 1992. The couple came to Fl in 1992. Louis worked Part time for The Ormond Beach Tennis Center. He was captain of his local tennis team. He was also the former president of the Aberdeen Home Owners Association and a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church.
