It is with heartfelt sadness to announce the passing of Lori A. Tobin on Thursday Sept. 12, 2024 at the age of 56. Lori's short life was marked by two distinct periods, before and after her life altering accident at the age of 22.  Before her accident Lori was a beautiful and sharp witted soul whose larger than life personality overshadowed her five foot stature. Lori loved to talk, she could turn a 10 minute story into an hour long epic tale that would keep you captivated until the end.
Born in The Bronx, NY in 1967 the family made their way to Washingtonville, NY where Lori attended and graduated high school. After attending Berkeley secretarial school Lori moved to Florida to join her parents who had recently retired. Lori worked as a legal secretary at a law firm in Port Charlotte, FL and had aspirations of becoming a paralegal. Lori was enjoying the Florida lifestyle of playing golf, tennis and enjoying the beaches of Southwest Florida. Lori was engaged to be married, having a beautiful house built and planning for the next phase of her life when
tragedy struck. In June of 1990 Lori was involved in tragic accident that left her permanently brain injured. Lori would never speak again. For 34 years Lori was under the care of her Mom who tirelessly attended to every facet of her care in the family home. Lori is predeceased by her father John V. Tobin, and brother James V. Tobin. She is survived by her mother Carol Tobin, brother John P. Tobin (Claudia), sister Rachel Smith (David), sister-in-law Charlene Hurley-Tobin, nephews John C. and Ryan and nieces Jessica and Vanessa.
