Loretta Dean "G-Ma" Keener
1936 - 2025
Age 89
Ormond Beach, Florida
It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of Loretta Dean "G-ma" Keener, 89, of Ormond Beach, FL. Loretta passed away peacefully in Savannah, GA on September 17, 2025. She was born on May 25, 1936, in Paducah, KY, the daughter of Herbert and Evelyn Broyles. She later moved with her family to Grass Lake, MI where she graduated in 1954 from Jackson High School. She met the love of her life Vance J Keener and was married in 1955. They had two sons and moved to Ormond Beach, FL in 1969.
Loretta lived a vibrant and full life marked by her joyful spirit and deep love for her family. She found her greatest happiness in spending time with her friends and loved ones. She was especially devoted to being with her son and extended family as often as possible. Her warmth and outgoing nature made her a beloved presence among all who knew her.
Loretta had a passion for music that spanned all genres. She delighted in singing karaoke and dancing with friends—activities that reflected the joy she brought into every room she entered. Throughout the years she loved travel and enjoyed exploring new places with friends. She was also an active member of both the Daytona Beach Loyal Order of Moose and the Women of the Moose, where she formed lasting friendships and contributed to community life.
Her kind heart, happy-go-lucky attitude, and ability to make friends wherever she went left an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to know her. May her memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents; her sister, Betty Broyles Smith; and her youngest son, Kris Lee Keener.
Her memory is cherished by those she leaves behind: her son Vint Keener and his wife Pam Sizemore Keener; grandson Vaughn Keener and his wife Emily Keener; granddaughter Eden Godfrey and her husband Chris Godfrey; and great-grandchildren Jayda Godfrey, C.J. Godfrey, Isla Godfrey and Kya Keener.
A "Celebration of Life" will be held on November 22, 2025 from 12:30-2:30 pm at the Daytona Beach Moose Lodge 1263 located at 601 Granada Avenue, Ormond Beach Fl.
