Loren R. Klein beloved husband father and grandfather age 87 of Edgewater passed away on Thursday August 18th 2011.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday August 24th from 4pm until 6pm at Lohman Funeral Home Daytona 1423 Bellevue Ave. Daytona Beach FL. Funeral Services will be held at 10am on Thursday August 25th in the Chapel of Lohman Funeral Home. Burial will immediately follow the service at Daytona Memorial Park Cemetery.
Born to the late Ida & Louis Klein on December 12 1923 in Evansville Minnesota he was the twelfth of thirteen children. Loren served his country for many years in the United States Navy in both WWII and the Korean War. Most of his career was spent in residential and industrial construction in Florida and the Caribbean. He completed his career in Texas as a Customs Patrol Officer.
Loren was instrumental in the Edgewater Garden Club support for the Sugar Mill Gardens in Port Orange. He also enjoyed playing the organ cooking reading fishing gardening and spending time with family and friends.
Loren was a member of Masonic Lodge 270 in Daytona Beach for over fifty years. He was also member of the VFW American Legion NARFE the Edgewater Gardening Club and the United Church of Christ in Holly Hill and New Smyrna Beach.
He is preceded in death by his first wife Shirley Klein.
He is survived by his beloved wife Grace children Karen (Don) Walker of North Carolina Lois (Robert) Richey of North Carolina Loren (Sherrie) Klein of Texas six grandchildren eight great grandchildren brother Carroll Klein and many loving family members and close friends.
