Robinson
September 18, 1928 – November 4, 2024
Lois Virginia Fundis Robinson, age 96, of Apex, NC, passed away at home on November 4, 2024. She was born on September 18, 1928, in Dryden, NY, to John H. Fundis and Mildred M. Basl Fundis. She grew up in Groton, NY, and graduated from Groton High School in 1947. Afterward, she proudly attended the Del Kader French School of Beauty Culture, graduating in 1948.
In 1951, Lois co-owned and operated a beauty salon in Ithaca, NY, where she worked for 17 years before stopping in 1968 to become a full-time mother. She married Howard Edward Robinson on February 1, 1964, in Lansing, NY. Together, they built a loving home and family living in Freeville, NY, for 20 years. In 1984, Lois and Howard moved to Port Orange, FL, before Lois eventually relocated to Apex, NC, in 2008 to live with her daughter, Rebecca, and granddaughter, Rachel.
Lois was a woman of many talents and passions. She enjoyed sewing, painting, coloring, making crafts, doing crossword puzzles, and watching old Westerns on television. She spent many years volunteering alongside her husband at Faith Church-United Brethren in Port Orange, FL. Above all, she cherished being surrounded by her family, and her home was always filled with lots of love and laughter.
Lois is survived by her daughter, Rebecca Ann (Robinson) Mobley, her son, Stephen Richard Robinson, and her granddaughter, Rachel Ann Mobley. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Howard Robinson, and her sisters, Betty Humphrey and Joan Lisdell.
A small graveside service will be held at Lohman Funeral Home, 1423 Bellevue Avenue, Daytona Beach, FL 32114, on Monday, November 18th at 11:30 AM. Family and friends are invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice in Lois's memory.
Lois's legacy of love, grace, and devotion to family and faith will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by her family, friends, and community.
