Lois Anne (Gabbert) Escue, 83, of Daytona Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2016 at Florida Hospital Hospice Care. She had previously lived in Charlotte, NC where she was an active member of Hickory Grove Baptist, and Dunbar, West Virginia where she was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Dunbar. She was a member of The First Baptist Church of Daytona Beach while she lived in Daytona Beach.

Lois was born on September 4th, 1932 in Dunbar, West Virginia to the late James Melvin Gabbert and Sweet Hall Gabbert. She was a bookkeeper / office manager for most of her adult life until she retired at age 62 to care for her own mother. She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Allen Escue, her parents James Melvin Gabbert and Sweet Hall Gabbert, her brother John M. Gabbert and her sister Betty Jane (Gabbert) Burdette. She is survived by her 2 children: James Steven (Leslie) Escue and Susan Gayle (Escue) Stetler. She is also survived by her 5 grandchildren: Laura Escue (Will) Lyon, Adrienne Escue (JT) Addison, Jenny Escue, Eric B. Stetler, and Philip A. Stetler; and 4 great-grandchildren: Maggie and Ellie Kate Lyon, and Emmie and Sadie Anne Addison. Also surviving Lois is her special niece who lives locally, Julie (Mark) Blais, as well as several other nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Lois' Life will be held at Lohman Funeral Home Ormond, 733 West Granada Boulevard, Ormond Beach FL, on Saturday, August 13, 2016, with Pastor Sonny Gallman officiating. The family will receive friends starting at 10:00 a.m. and the service itself will begin at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
