Obituary

Lois Mae Lance Burt, 90, passed away on April 3, 2023, at Halifax Hospice in Edgewater, Florida. She was the wife of Robert S. Burt. They shared 72 years of marriage together.


She is survived by her spouse, Robert S. Burt (Bob), brothers Wayne Lance and wife Marsha, James Lance and wife Sharon, children Robert L. Burt (Lanny) and wife Bonnie, Carol Ann Strother and husband Larry, grandson Stephen Hendricks and wife Heather, and great-granddaughter Chastity Hendricks. She was predeceased by sisters Ethel Lance and Doris Maxwell.


Born in Point Peter, Georgia, she was the daughter of Everett Clyde Lance and Annie Sue Oliver Lance. She was a graduate of Oglethorpe High School. In her career she was employed as an assistant bank branch manager, served as administrator of a christian school, and owned and operated a daycare center. She was an active member of Mount Zion Fellowship in Charles Town, W.V., and was sent by the congregation, with her husband, to oversee the building of a Christian retreat center in Migdal, Israel. They lived in Israel for a number of years.


A private funeral and graveside service are planned. She will be interred at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery in Mims, Florida. A celebration of her life will be held at a later time.
