Lloyd Dewey Harding (Poppy) 84 of Ormond Beach peacefully passed away September 13 2013 with his devoted wife Betty and family by his side. Shortly after being born in Riverside California to Joseph Duncan and Myrtle Alexander Harding they moved to Maysville Kentucky where he forever called his home. A child of the Great Depression he followed his father's footsteps in the construction industry after an untimely death to support his family during World War 2. His career spanned 50 years with three (3) construction firms the latest being Frank J. Rooney/Centex Rooney where he supervised numerous iconic projects including The Land Pavilion at Epcot Center Walt Disney's Grand Floridian Hotel Atlantis (Bahamas) and Tower of Terror at Walt Disney World. His integrity loyalty innovation and hands on problem solving earned respect from his peers and all who came in contact with him in the construction industry. He mentored many and left his mark on the industry as a whole a true builder. Family preceding him in leaving this world was his Mother and Father his sister Betty younger brother Charlie and older brother Joseph who was killed on D-Day June 6 1944 a day hard to live the remainder of his life. He is now reunited with all. Leaving behind to cherish his memories are: his wife of 64 years Betty daughters Vicki Jo and Susan Mae sons Lloyd Dewey Harding Jr. (Butch) and Roy Duncan; 8 grandchildren 15 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. His other special sons and daughter are Vicki Jo's husband Dr. Tony Davis Susan Mae's husband Dr. John (Mike) Turner and Dewey's (Butch) wife Linda. Poppy will always be loved and missed by all. A Celebration of His Life will be held October 5 2013 at the LGPA Country Club in Daytona at 1:00 P.M. for family and friends; Fish Camp and Garage executives wear your jeans or shorts.
