Lisa M. Ponichtera of Edgewater died Wednesday July 8, 2015 at Halifax Hospital in Daytona Beach, after a long illness. She was born in Vineland New Jersey on January 4, 1962 the daughter of John and Tillie (Bassetti) Propheita.

Lisa graduated with the class of 1980 from Vineland High School. On March 16, 1991, Lisa married Alex Ponichtera. Lisa loved animals and cooking, but together with her husband they loved to travel to Florida and the islands. It was during this travel where she developed her love for the outdoors and especially the ocean and her water aerobics.

In addition to her parents in Edgewater, she is also survived by her loving husband Alex M. Ponichtera of Edgewater, a brother Tom Propheita (Vineland, NJ), a sister Marian George (Edgewater), nephews Jessie George, Jr., Brian George, Sister in law Joy and her husband Ed Gilbert, brother in law Frank and his wife Pattianne Ponichtera, brother in law Frank and his wife Chris Ponichtera.

Family and friends may gather for one hour at 10 a.m. before the Catholic Prayer Service at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 14, at Lohman Funeral Home Port Orange, 1201 Dunlawton Ave., with Fr. Chris Hoffmann, pastor of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, presiding.
