Linda A. Del Rossi, 79, passed away suddenly on November 18 at her home in Deland, FL. She was bravely fighting pancreatic cancer at the time of her death. Linda was born, raised and educated in Melrose, Massachusetts the third of four children. After graduation, Linda entered the workforce where she stayed until retiring just a couple of years ago. In 1967 Linda married "her Bob", Robert Del Rossi and they spent 40 years together in Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Florida until his untimely death in 2008. She has missed him every day since. Linda considered all the children in the family to be her own and loved "mothering" and doting on them. She genuinely loved hearing about all their accomplishments and successes, and was also a caring listener when things weren't going so well. She bore all things with grace, dignity and humor. Over the years, Linda enjoyed time spent with family in any capacity. These were her most cherished memories. She loved spending days at Disney, visiting family up North, and "shopping the sales" . She most recently visited Massachusetts this past summer and had a joyful time meeting the new babies and spouses of the family, reconnecting with those who have grown and just hanging out with her family and friends. She really missed her northern crew. Linda is predeceased by her parents, John and Rosamond Smith; her brother John Smith, Jr.; and her husband Robert Del Rossi. She is survived by her sisters Mary Erndl and Patrice O'Donnell; her dear friend Elise Mahoney; her extended Del Rossi family and generations of nieces and nephews. Linda's wish is to be remembered as someone who loved her family dearly above all else. She requested that donations be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, January 25 at 1pm at Daytona Memorial Park South, 1425 Bellevue Avenue, Daytona Beach, FL 32114. Her family sends their heartfelt thanks.
