Lewis J Demarest 84 of N Halifax Ave in Daytona Beach passed away Saturday March 8th at the Sarah House in Daytona Beach. Born in Queens NY he has been a resident of this area since 1982. A Navy veteran of WWII Lew retired in 1969 after over 20 years as a Detective for the New York City Police Department. He attended Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and he loved to walk.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years Muriel his step daughter Barbara Welch and her husband John of Bristol England 2 sisters; Sue Egan and Leah McGrane both of New York. He is also survived by his grandson Christopher a student at Stetson University.
Relatives and friends are invited to his
Mass of Christian Burial Thursday March 13th at 1100 am in Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church celebrated by Father Phil Egitto. His family will receive friends on Wednesday from 200pm till 400 pm and again from 600 pm till 800pm in the chapel of Baggett & Summers funeral Home. Interment will follow in Daytona Memorial Park.
