Obituary

Leslie Carol Hunter (Sissy), age 51, of Camas, Washington, passed away peacefully on April 28, 2015 after a courageous four-year battle with ovarian cancer. She was the beloved wife of Ian M. Hunter of Camas.

Sissy was born and raised in Daytona Beach, Florida and resided the final five years of her life in Camas, Washington due to the military transfer of her husband Ian. She was the loving daughter of Walter and Gladys Girvin of South Daytona and sister to the late Scott Girvin of Ormond Beach. She also leaves behind her beloved niece, Ashley Girvin of Albuquerque, New Mexico, her Uncle Jerry and Aunt Judy of Panama City, Florida, as well as numerous cousins and close friends.

Sissy was a Registered Nurse and worked at Halifax Hospital in Daytona Beach for more than 8 years where she had countless friends prior to moving around the country to California, Tennessee and Washington. She was also a supervisor for the Halifax Humane Society for several years prior to completing her nursing degree at Daytona Beach College in 1998.

Sissy was an incredibly loving person with an enormous passion for the welfare of all animals. She loved to travel and spend time with her husband and their beloved dogs and cats. She also enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, the beach, and simply spending time with her family and friends.

Memorial services will be held 6pm on Friday, August 7, 2015 at Lohman Funeral Home in Ormond Beach. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Halifax Humane Society, 2364 LPGA Blvd, Daytona Beach, Florida.
