Rolf Leroy "Tony" of Daytona Beach passed away on August 17 at Halifax Hospital after an extended illness. Tony was born in New London CT. the son of Rosetta Westwood Rolf and Burton Rolf both deceased. He was preceded in death by brothers Burton Percy Sydney Earl Raymond and sisters Jenny McCarthy Barbara Ingham and Elly Martin. He is survived by his wife Evelyn of Daytona Beach. They were married in Hamilton Ohio on July 16 l955 and have two sons Scott of Daytona Beach and Cary of Wesley Chapel FL. He leaves brothers Fred "Ted" of Waterford CT Frank of Sarasota FL Gary of New London CT. sisters Beverly Gaska of Waterford CT and Karen Rowland of Niantic CT. as well as many nieces and nephews his loving poodle called Jazz and many fiends. Tony graduated from Chapman Tech High School and served in the Marine Corps in VA Beach. Before his retirement from the heating and ventilation business he spent hundreds of hours coaching Little League and Babe Ruth Baseball teams. He and his brother Fred were honored by the naming of a baseball field in Waterford. Tony was one of the coaches who coached their Babe Ruth team to the World Series in Williston N.D. in 1980 where they finished 4th in the U.S. He retired to FL in 1991 and joined the Clodbusters a men's singing group the Kopykats a theatre group and the Ormond Beach FL. Senior Showclub (another theatre group). Tony has attended Baptist Churches in CT and FL. Tony enjoyed fishing his favorite New York Yankees and the New York Giants. He was an exceptionally strong swimmer and bowler where he averaged in the 180's as a casual bowler. Tony attended Baptist churches in CT and FL. Tony expressly requested there be no funeral or memorial service as he wanted all who knew him to remember him as they last saw him.
