Leroy Hutchinson 86 of Palm Coast Florida passed away on May 2 2012 peacefully at his home. Visitation will be held on Thursday May 10 2012 from 2 pm until 4 pm at the Lohman Funeral Home Palm Coast 220 Palm Coast Pkwy SW Palm Coast FL. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday May 11 2012 at 11 am at The St. Thomas Episcopal Church 5400 Belle Terre Pkwy Palm Coast. Leroy was born and raised in Brooklyn NY. He lived in Barbados where he attended school upon graduation he returned to the States where he attended Queens College receiving his Bachelor's Degree. He then attended Adelphi University where he earned his Master's Degree. On October 4 1952 Leroy entered into marriage with the love of his life Rita Gilliard at the St. Peter Claver Roman Catholic Church Brooklyn NY. Leroy was a faithful member of the St. Philips Church in Brooklyn NY. Leroy became employed as the superintendent under the Post Master General for the U.S. Postal Service retiring in 1986. He was then hired on as an Instructor at Brookdale and Kings County Hospitals. In 1992 Leroyand Rita relocated to Palm Coast. Here he became a faithful member of the St. Thomas Episcopal Church the NAACP and the African American Cultural Society. Leroy was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Helen Hutchinson and Brother Vincent. He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 ½ years Rita of Palm Coast and a host of family and friends.
