Leonard Yordon 94, passed away November 30th, peacefully holding the hand of his wife and partner of 66 years, Anne Yordon. Our Father Lenny was a kind and loving man and a tireless advocate for people in need. Three months before he passed, Lenny was still traveling to the halls of Congress to lobby for additional funding for cancer research. He always understood that those who can, should always work to make life better for those who can't. His lifelong love affair with the Chicago Cubs was finally rewarded in 2016 as his beloved Cubs finally won the first World Series of his lifetime. He waited 92 years for that final out and savored every moment along the way. He knew no other way to live. Lenny was a proud Army veteran. And he would tell you that his greatest service to his country was voting. He considered voting a sacred responsibility. Lenny Yordon was eternally optimistic. His favorite phrase was, "The world is like a mirror reflecting what you do and when you smile at it, it smiles right back at you". That simple verse was a common phrase he would share to all who would listen. He wouldn't want to us to share the business of his life in this space. While he was successful in business, his worth was always in his family. He believed the truest measure of a man was how he conducted himself as a father. All else came after you have taken care of your children. He lived that deeply held belief for a lifetime. He adored his life partner Anne Yordon. So much so that they were married five times. That's not a misprint, Lenny and Anne loved getting married to each other, so they just kept doing it. They were married twice by Rabbi's, twice by judges and once by a ship's captain on a cruise. While there are a hundred more stories to tell, just as in any richly lived life, Lenny would want you to get on with your day instead of reading this. He would want you to find a way to make someone's life better by doing something grand or just something simple. He would ask that you do that for someone you know or for someone you will never meet. Do something today that will change a life for tomorrow. Lenny would tell you beyond his story, this obituary will have real value if it motivates you to help another person, and then Lenny would tell you to smile, because the world is like a mirror. Lenny was preceded in death by his father Harry and mother Janette; Brother, Mike And Sister Norma; Son Stephen; Daughter Marsha; Daughter-in-law Maryann, grandson Christopher and grandson Zachary. Left to cherish his memory of 66 years, his loving wife and soulmate Anne. Three sons and their wives, Michael (Linda) Duluth, Georgia; Gary (Berneice) Tallahassee and Gregory (Sharon) Panama City. Grandchildren: Kimberly, (Jowad) San Diego, Ryan (Graham) Gainesville, Corey (Richard) Orlando, Dustin (Ashley) St, Louis; Jackson (Allison) Kennebunkport, Faun, Atlanta, Cameron (Rachel) Crestview. Great Grandchildren Rachel, Luke, Leo, Noah, Cassidy, Zachary, Hailee, Seth and Gavin. Last but not least all those dear friends who touched his heart in so many ways. A celebration of Leonard's life will be held January 19 ^th , 2019 at 11am at Lohman's Funeral Home Ormond on 733 W. Granada Blvd. in Ormond Beach, Florida.
