Leon C. Kelley, 85, passed away on July 20, 2015 at Port Orange Hospice in Port Orange Fl. Leon was born on October 16, 1929 in Cullman, Alabama to William and Sonnie Kelley and grew up in Arab, Alabama.
Leon proudly served in the Army, which included deployments to Korea and Vietnam, and retired with honors in 1969. He continued working with the department of the Army as a Logistics Officer at Fort Knox, KY until 1985. Therefore retiring and making Port Orange Florida his home.
Leon married Bettylou in 1958 in Halifax, PA. They were happily married for 54 years. Leon was a member of the VFW in Port Orange and enjoyed time with his family, giving back to his community, making new friends, and making people smile.
Leon is survived by his spouse Bettylou of Port Orange, FL.; his children Denise and her husband Paul Ching, George Kelley and Dean Kelley; his grandchildren, Sarah Gailey, Ian Kelley and Brandon Kelley and his great-grandchild, Abel Gailey.
A visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, July 24, at Lohman Funeral Home Port Orange. The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 25, at Lohman Funeral Home, 1201 Dunlawton Ave., Port Orange, FL 32127.
