Lena River Halcomb Sims age 90 passed away quietly in her home one Sunday September 25 2011. A funeral service in her honor will be held on Thursday Sept. 29 11:30 AM at the Baggett and Summers Chapel of the Lohman Funeral Homes. Visitation will be Wed. 6-9pm. Interment will follow at Shady Rest Cemetery. Lena was born in Richmond KY to Claude and Ella Duncan. She was the owner of a dress shop and a men's clothing store in Richmond worked at the Duns Casino in Las Vegas and managed the Duns Court Motel here in Daytona. She was a witty easy going honest woman who above all loved her family. He was preceded in death by her husband John Halcomb her second husband Jay Sims a daughter: Billye Noel and a great granddaughter and is survived by her sons: John (Becky) Halcomb and Jerry (Susan) Halcomb a brother Charles (Carolyn) Duncan 6 grandchildren 9 great grandchildren a niece and a nephew.
