Lena Simonek (Stern) 98 of Ormond Beach Florida a resident since 1965 passed away on October 24 2007. She is the widow of Richard Simonek who was a technical inspector with NASCAR for 20 years and was inducted posthumously into the Sprint Car Hall of Fame in Knoxville Iowa in 2006. She is survived by a son Charles of Ormond Beach Three Grandchildren Janice Kruse of Vermont Susan Mitchell of Florida Richard Simonek of Pennsylvania Two Great Grandchildren Charles Kruse Ann Britt Garcia of Vermont and Two Great Great Grandchildren Nicolas and Tomas Garcia of Vermont. She is also survived by two brothers Joseph and Charles Stern of New Jersey Two sisters Rose Cole of New York and Audrey Van Hook of New Jersey. A memorial Service will be held at Unity Church on Ridgewood Ave. in Holly Hill Florida Friday November 2 2007 at 10:00am.
