Lena Mitacchione, 96, of DeLand, Florida, passed away peacefully on September 19, 2025. She was born on May 27, 1929, in Harlem, New York, to Michael and Antonia (Amendolara) Pace.

In April 1949, Lena married the love of her life, Vito Mitacchione. Together, they built a beautiful life and raised three children, Maria (John), Antoinette (Ray), and Stefano, whom she loved and cherished dearly.

Throughout her career, Lena was a respected and dedicated employee at both Picatinny Arsenal and Howmet Aerospace. In 1976, she came to know Jesus as her Lord and Savior, often expressing, "I would not know what to do without Him." Her faith became the cornerstone of her life and sustained her until her final days.

Lena is survived by her loving children, Maria (John), Antoinette (Ray), and Stefano; her devoted grandchildren, Sarah (David), Jessica, Christopher, Vincent (Bianca), Michael (Gem), and Lena (JJ); and her cherished great-grandchildren, Eva, Sean, Haleigh, Christian, Roman, Vito, Isabella, Gabriel, and Stefano. She will also be deeply missed by her many nieces, nephews, and dear friends, all of whom she loved wholeheartedly.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Vito Mitacchione; her parents, Michael and Antonia Pace; and two beloved sons-in-law.

Lena will be laid to rest at DeLand Memorial Gardens on Wednesday, September 24, 2025 at 11:00 am.
