Lee W. Wagenknecht was born on August 10, 1936 in Detroit, Michigan to Robert and Ruth (Mason) Wagenknecht. He was called home on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at the age of 82. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and a friend to all that knew him. He was a very caring, intelligent, outgoing individual who served in the U.S. Army. He later met his soul mate and wife, Rachelle. They were married for 57 years. Lee loved and provided for his family, he was a dedicated and loving husband and father. He retired from General Motors after 30 years of service. After retirement he and Rachelle moved to Florida where he enjoyed his love for golf for many years. He was a special man that was loved by all that knew him and he will be forever remembered in our hearts. He was preceded in death by his parents, as well as by his brothers, Dennis and Dale Wagenknecht. He leaves behind his loving wife Rachelle Wagenknecht, his daughter, Karen McGoldrick and her husband John, his two sons, Dale Wagenknecht and Mark Wagenknecht and his wife, Kim, his sister, Marilyn Rodriguez, as well as his grandchildren, Ashley, Nicholas, Jason and Megan, and his nieces and nephews, Paul, Adam, Johnny, Lisa and Eli. Inurnment with Military Honors will be held on Monday, June 3, 2019 at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery; 5525 US 1 North Mims, FL "Special thanks to everyone who prayed, called, visited, sent blessings and comforted our family.
