Lawrence Cottrell Schmidle

Larry was born in Albright West Virginia on January 4 1926. He served in the 4th Armored Division in World War II from 1945 until 1947 then attended Fairmont State College in West Virginia where he was President of the student body played basketball and graduated with a degree in Education. Larry appeared in the 1950-51 edition of the Who?s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges.



Larry married Patricia Fahey of Clarksburg West Virginia in 1954. He entered the F.B.I. as a Special Agent later that year. He became a firearms instructor at the F.B.I. Academy in Quantico Virginia in 1962 and retired as Unit Chief in 1979. Since 1980 Larry and his wife Pat have resided in Daytona Beach Florida. He taught the firearms course at the Daytona Beach Community College from 1982 ? 2002. He was a member of the Pelican Bay Country Club in Daytona Beach.



Larry is survived by his loving wife of 52 years Patricia five adoring children Michael J. Schmidle of Arlington VA William Schmidle of Bristow VA Harold Schmidle of Wilmington NC Larry Schmidle of Alexandria VA Sally Weaver of Leesburg VA and three daughters-in-law and a son-in-law. He is also survived by his brother James Schmidle of Kingwood WV and sisters Catherine Martin of Daytona Beach FL Lou Sterling of Kingwood WV Helen Chidester of Bruceton Mills WV Joan Omernik of Corvallis OR and Martha Taylor of Terra Alta WV. Larry was the proud and loving grand-parent of nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
