Lawrence "Larry" Cascarino 87 of Port Orange passed away peacefully June 19 2009. A memorial mass in his honor was held Thursday June 25th at Church of the Epiphany Port Orange.
Larry was born May 4 1922 in Philadelphia PA graduated from Girard College served in the U.S. Air Force during WWII as a Gunnery Sergeant and was a former POW. He retired as a civilian airplane mechanic from Maguire AFB and moved from Riverside NJ to Port Orange in 1981 was active in square dancing Wednesday Club social card games and enjoyed bird watching fishing golf cooking and corny jokes.
Preceded in death by his loving wife of 56 years Verla Larry is survived by three daughters: Patricia (Charles) Bruder of Pennsauken NJ; Denise "Dennie" (William) Lees and Karen (Keith) Poulsen of Port Orange FL; five grandchildren: Michael Jason Mark David and Michelle many loving nieces nephews and friends including his best friend Jack Hamlin.
