Funeral Services for Laura Hust age 102 of Ormond Beach who died on Tuesday August 12 2003 will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday August 23 2003 at Grace Lutheran Church. Family will receive friends on Friday from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Ormond Funeral Home.

Before her death she was the oldest living member of Grace Lutheran Church and was also a member of The Order of the Eastern Star. Throughout her years she cared for and watched over her family. Laura outlived her sisters Wanda May and Margaret and also her brother Richard.

She was born and raised in Brooklyn New York where she married her sweetheart Freddy Hust. Once married they moved into a two-family house in Richmond Hill Queens New York. In 1972 she moved into Lynbrook Nassau County with her sister May and brother-in-law Charles Sandler. They all moved in 1990 to Ormond Beach. May and Charles passed away in 2000. Although she had no children she was greatly responsible for raising many of her nieces and nephews.

Survivors include two nieces and their husbands; Carol and Jack Wolf of Richmond New York and Susan and Ronald Gorecki of East Rockaway New York; a grand niece Debra Wolfe and three grand nephews: Craig Wolf Ryan Gorecki and Reid Gorecki.
