Laura May Boyd 84 of Fair Oaks Circle died Friday in her daughter?s home in The Trails. Funeral Services will be Sunday December 12th at 3:00 pm in the Chapel of Lohman Ormond Funeral Home the interment will immediately follow. Her family will receive friends from 2-3pm preceding the service. Mrs. Boyd was born in Nashville Tennessee where she attended Peabody College. She began a business career in 1940 with the Grayson-Whitney Company that included store manger corporate buyer regional supervisor and national company consultant. In 1974 she retired and moved to Ormond Beach to be near her grandchildren. She soon began using her talents as a volunteer at Tomoka Elementary School where she was named Senior Volunteer of the Year. Her love of children sparked her enthusiasm for a second ten year career as a teacher?s assistant at Tomoka Elementary. Laura May further enriched her life by ?baby sitting? hundreds of Ormond Beach children. Many of these children and their parents adopted her as a ?special? grandmother who became a very important part of their families. Her entire life was dedicated to nurturing loving and educating others through all of her various endeavors. She is survived by her only daughter Patricia Graham; her son-in-law Dr. Malcolm Graham; three grandsons Malcolm Scott and Patrick; their significant others Meredith Gayane and Julie; and the other Ormond Beach children that she nurtured and loved as her own.
