IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Kristopher "Kris"
Lee Johnson
January 14, 1980 – December 7, 2024
Our precious, beloved son, Kristopher Johnson, was born in Daytona Beach January 14, 1980, grew up in Ormond Beach, and passed away December 7, 2024, in Daytona Beach. He was a young 44 years old when he died, but he had a great life and put more into it than many at twice that age. He accomplished so much as he could do anything he set his mind to.
Kris graduated from the Univ. of FL in 2009, then moved to NC to be near his brother, Keith, attend UNC to get a teaching degree and join his dad's race team, Action Express Racing. He was a musician, an artist, a trained recording engineer, songwriter, concert promoter, craftsman woodworker, avid cook, aspiring inventor who always had a new idea, and most recently a tax preparer in his dad's office.
He was also an entrepreneur, having started two new businesses. Kris and Keith created, planned, designed, built and operated Cliff Hangers, a state-of the-art indoor rock climbing gym in NC. Most recently, Kris was also developing a new concert promoting company. He was a great business manager and knew what it took to be successful. He loved people and had no prejudice. It didn't matter to him about a person's origin, nationality, race, color of their skin or financial status, he was a friend to all and treated everyone with respect. He was also very generous and would often offer help to someone in need.
He married the love of his life, Cassie Snyder, ten years ago, and they became partners in his many new ventures. Unfortunately, earlier this year they separated and they were in the process of a divorce and they sold their home in Asheville in June. He had recently moved back to Daytona/Ormond to start his life over again. He regretted the split but efforts to reconcile were not going well.
He is survived by his wife Cassie, father Robert Johnson, mother Kandyce Johnson and brother Keith Johnson (Melissa) nephew Austin and niece Emma.
