Kirk W. Lourim- 54 of Port Orange Florida passed away on June 24th 2009 in Laurinburg North Carolina. Kirk was born on June 27th 1954 to Mr. William and Amelia Lourim in Point Pleasant NJ. He had a lifetime career with the Merchant Marines retiring in 2004 as Chief Engineer. Kirk was an avid fisherman and an active member of the Halifax Sport Fishing Club. He took great pride in assisting the club with its annual tournament for individuals with special needs and children's fishing clinic. Kirk loved to travel across the country on his Harley. It took people a short time to know what kind of person Kirk was and to know him was to love him.Kirk was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Lynette. Survivors include his nephew Rick Keller his niece Christine (Josh) Saffran and their two children and his cousins Cathy (Chris) Brown Bill (Kathy) Becker and Gordon (Jackie) Ortelli. As per Kirk's wishes a service will be held during bike week 2010 specifics to be announced at a later time. Any memorials/donations can be made to the Halifax Sport Fishing Club in Port Orange Florida for their special needs tournament and kids fishing clinic.
