Kevin Michael Hamilton, 63, of DeLand, Florida passed away on October 23, 2025. He was born on October 25, 1961, in Fernandina Beach, Florida to Samuel Clyde and Katherine Laverne (Peterson) Hamilton.

Kevin was, without question, the World's Best Husband, a title he proudly held for many consecutive years according to his devoted wife, Mary. He was also the World's Best Cat Dad, showering his four-legged companions with endless affection. His love for animals extended far beyond his own pets, as he had a gentle heart for all creatures that crossed his path.

A graduate of Santa Fe State College, Kevin earned his Associate of Arts degree and went on to build a meaningful career with both Orange and Lake County Government, where he worked faithfully until his retirement in July 2024.

Outside of work, Kevin's passions painted the picture of a life well-lived. He was a loyal University of Florida football fan, cheering "Go Gators!" through every season, and he found peace and joy in playing his guitar.

Kevin's memory will live on through the love he gave so freely and the laughter he brought to everyone who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his father, Samuel Clyde Hamilton; and his nephew, Matthew Hamilton.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Hamilton; his mother, Katherine Laverne Hamilton; his brothers, Sam (Jaime) Hamilton and Greg (Pat) Hamilton; his uncle, Terry Peterson; his niece, Cynthia (Jake) Gianelle; and his nephews, Conner and Parker Hamilton.

A memorial service celebrating Kevin's life will be held on Friday, November 14, 2025 at 11:00 am at Lohman Funeral Home – DeLand Chapel, 935 E. New York Ave, DeLand, FL 32724.
