Obituary

Kenneth "Ken" Hayes, 57, of Ormond Beach, FL passed away early Monday morning, surrounded by his loving wife of 36 years and two children. Born in Kissimmee, Florida July 11, 1957, Ken spent most of his life a Floridian and graduated from Seabreeze High School in 1975. Shortly thereafter he married his soul mate Barbara and they had two children. Ken was an avid photographer who was seldom seen without his camera. Everyone who met Ken couldn't help but smile because of his contagious happiness and positive outlook. He was always "just happy to be here" no matter where he was and he could strike up a conversation with anyone. Ken worked most of his life in the automotive repair business and was the former owner of Autoworks of Ormond. His greatest joy was his six grandchildren. Ken was predeceased by his father Kenneth Eugene Hayes. He is survived by his wife Barbara Hayes his son, Kenneth (Scarlett) Hayes, and his daughter, Melissa (Andrew) Yoon all of Ormond Beach, as well as his six grandchildren Hayden, Ethan, Mia, Max, Eli, and Avery. He is also survived by his mother Betty Kamikowsky and his brother Todd Hayes both of Daytona Beach Shores, his brothers and sisters-in-law, Paul Holub and Deborah Gormley and family, Joe Holub and family, Kathleen and John Carbrey and family, Patty and Charlie Hoagland and family, Marjorie Holub and family and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Visitation will be held on Friday, Jan. 30th between the hours of 4-7 pm at Lohman Funeral Home; 733 W. Granada Blvd. Ormond Beach, followed by services on Saturday, Jan. 31st at 10:00 a.m. at Lohman Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Daytona Memorial Park. All of Ken's friends are welcome and if you choose to come please dress as Ken would in casual attire. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to support research for Acute Myeloid Leukemia via the American Cancer Society. Arrangements are under the careful care of Lohman Funeral Home Ormond.
