Kelly Joseph Lendor was born Wednesday February 4th, 1931 in Soufriere, Saint Lucia. He was
the second oldest of 12 children to Lillian and Bernard Lendor. He worked closely with his father
in the brick mason trade, and assisted with the growing and selling of vegetable crops. His
mother used to call him her little salesman. Kelly was raised in the Seventh-day Adventist
Church and attended the RC Boys Primary School in Soufriere, Saint Lucia. He was known as a
no-nonsense person in the community who would not bite his tongue, fight for his siblings, and
stood up for what was right. At age 18 he migrated from Saint Lucia to the United States of
America via Miami, FL, through the US Migrant Farmers Program on a 5 year contract. He
sponsored all six of his siblings now residing in the United States.

Kelly farmed everything from corn and peas in Wisconsin, sugar cane in Belle Glade, FL,
potatoes and cabbage in Upstate NY, to finally oranges in the groves of Frost Proof, FL, where
at the end of his farming contract he met Ruth Lendor his beautiful wife in the winter of 1954.
She in her late teens, and he in his early 20s. Kelly and Ruth would marry a year later on Oct
14th, 1955. During that year they moved to Morris Ave in The Bronx, NY (Ooo Oo!!!!). After
being denied housing because of the amount of children they had, Kelly & Ruth swore that they
would never again be in a position where someone could tell them no. So they moved from the
Bronx to Manhattan where they were superintendents for 4 years of a building on 108 th Street
near 5 th Avenue. During those years they made home repairs, took out trash, and shoveled coal
in furnaces during the winter, all the while saving money so that they could purchase their first
home back in The Bronx on Clinton Ave where they lived for 13 years with their 7 children. They
would finally take up residence on Bushey Ave in Yonkers, NY, in a house Kelly built with his
brothers and friends.

In the mid 90s after he retired, Kelly and Ruth moved to Palm Coast, Florida, where once again
he built a home for his family. During his time here in Florida he and Ruth would often find
themselves driving up and down 95 to check in on their kids who by now were spread out
between GA, NC, PA, NJ, and of course the greatest city in the world…NY (so nice they had to
name it twice)!!! Eventually He and Ruth would would settle into their Palm Coast life with
Melonie, Samuel, and Sandra. He would be joined in Palm Coast by Daniel & Jacintha Lendor,
and his nephew Dexter and family. Kelly would find himself turning his life over to God and
being baptized into the faith as a Seventh-day Adventist.

On Sunday, September 17th, 2023, Kelly was laid to rest. He was preceded in death by his
mother Lillian, father Bernard, daughter Kearl, sisters Lucy and Jane, brother Marcus, and son
Samuel. He leaves to cherish and honor his memory, legacy, laugh and smile, his beautiful,
loving, devoted wife Ruth Lendor. Their 6 living children Leon, Kenny, Sandra, Joycelyn,
Bernard and Melonie. 10 siblings Joyceline, Petra, Luther, Nathan, Titus, Rothel, Rose (De De),
Daniel, Samson, and Simeon. The number of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces,
nephews and cousins are too many to name. Just know the Lord has been good to us, and the
growth of our family whether you're a Lendor, a Reynolds, a Benjamin or a Duvigneau, is living
proof of God's everlasting love, grace, mercy and favor.

Kelly was a rock, Kelly was family. Kelly embodied The Heart of a Lendor.
