IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Kelly Ann
Buckelew
November 10, 1961 – June 27, 2024
Kelly Ann Buckelew, devoted Mom and Nanny, passed away on June 27, 2024.
Kelly was born on November 10, 1961 to CiCi and Bud McCrary. She grew up in Pine Bluff, Arkansas and later moved to San Antonio, Texas. Despite her preference for flannels and jeans, Kelly loved the color pink. After work one day at the Handy Andy, she raced the Stock Boy in her Ford Torino. She won the race and won his heart. Rick became her high school sweet heart and the love of her life. Rick and Kelly were married on February 26, 1983.
Rick and Kelly had four boys: Ryan (39), David (38), Bradley (36), and Brooks (33) who she raised to be incredible fathers, husbands, and uncles. They were the light of her life. Even though her family moved to Port Orange, Florida, Kelly's heart belonged to all things country – from cows to wagon wheels to country music. She became the self-proclaimed Queen of her family, and motherhood was her soul's calling. She always had a joke to keep up with her boys, cried anytime one of them left, cherished every holiday when the whole family reunited, and always got the last hug.
Kelly gained four daughters as each of her sons found love and grew their families in her example. Kelly joyously took on the title of Nanny in 2018. Her grandchildren, Aria (5), Lakin (2), Nolan (1), and Ceely (1), adored her as much as she adored them. She spent as much time with her grandchildren as possible. She made ice cream, played with playdoh, and snuggled up with books. She was always in her element when the kids were around. It is no surprise that "Nanny" was among each of their first words.
A memorial service will be held in her honor on Saturday, July 6 from 1:00-3:00 PM at 16 Breakaway Trail, Ormond Beach, FL. Kelly was the heart of her home and family, and we will strive to love our families as fiercely as she loved hers.
We will always leave the last hug for you.
