A native Floridian, Kellie was born in Seville. She was in the US Navy, graduated from law school and went on to be an assistant city attorney, a family law litigator and ultimately was elected as Circuit Judge, Seventh Circuit.

She is survived by her children, Michael, Logan and Amber Killebrew; a grandchild, Harper Killebrew; and her two brothers, Jeff and Craig Miles.
