Keith Hyland's Obituary
Keith Hyland 30 of Holly Hill passed away April 20 2004. His family will receive friends on Monday April 26th from 6:00-8:00 pm at Ormond Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Tuesday April 27th at 11:00 am at Ormond Funeral Home with Chaplin Jim Smith officiating.
During high school Keith was Class President for 3 years and during his Senior year he was the Student Government Association President. He was a Delegate for the American Legion Boy?s State. He was also a member of the Volusia County Tomorrow?s Leaders Program and the United Way Student Ambassador.
Keith was a member of the Model United Nations and the Debate Club/Team.
His high school honors include Who?s Who Among American High School Students Meritorious Service Awards recognized by the U.S. Navy as an Outstanding Young American recognized by the American Legion for participation in Boy?s State and recognized by Volusia County School Board as a Tomorrow?s Leader.
Keith was featured in the Orlando Sentinel for outstanding community service. He was a volunteer for the Red Cross and the United Way.
Keith was very devoted to children and education. He volunteered many hours mentoring children. One of his proudest accomplishments was being a Jacksonville Jaguar football youth counselor.
Keith attended Stetson University and Florida State University where he was a member of Lambda Chi and received an AA degree in Education.
Keith was preceded in death by his father Robert Hyland. Survivors include his mother Janet Hyland of Holly Hill Florida; his aunts Lisa Whalen of Boise Idaho Tammy Schoenle of Arcade New York and Kate Beszczynski Karen Hyland and Donna Hyland all of Attica New York; his uncle Frank Schoenle of Alexandria Virginia and his grandmothers Linda Harding of Ormond Beach Florida and Dorothy Hyland of Attica New York; and two cousins Lisa and Aaron.
A Celebration of Life for Keith Hyland will be held at Hollyland Park on Ridgewood Ave in Holly Hill on Sunday April 25th from 2:00-8:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Keith?s honor to Janet Hyland in care of the Wachovia Bank 1302 International Speedway Blvd. Daytona Beach FL 32114.
Condolences to the family may be sent via the family guestbook at www.ormondfuneralhome.com. Arrangements are under the careful direction of Ormond Funeral Home.
