Obituary

Kazimiera "Kazia" Trela loving wife of Stanislaw Trela who predeceased her in March 2001 died peacefully at Countryside Lakes Assisted Living where she had been a resident for 6 years. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday October 19 at 10:30 am at Epiphany Catholic Church Port Orange. Visiting with the family will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Kazia was born in Manasterz Poland where she studied agronomy before being deported with her family to a Stalinist Siberian Labor Camp at the start of World War II. In 1942 her family was transported to North Africa where they served in the Polish Army in Exile under British control. Kazia met Stanislaw Trela also a soldier in the Polish Army in Exile when they both fought with the Allies in the Italian Campaign. They married in Italy during the war and remained husband and wife for 56 years. After the war they spent 2 years in England and 6 years in Argentina before settling in New York City in 1955. They retired to Florida in 1977. Kazia loved telling stories of her life experiences caring for her family cooking and gardening. Her horticulture efforts were recognized by the City of South Daytona by the Beautification Award in 1997. Kazia's sunny smile and love and empathy for all will be missed. Kazia is survived by daughter Anna Greenhouse and husband Gerald of Ashland MA son Richard Trela of Waxhaw NC grandchildren Dara Greenhouse of Melrose MA Aaron Greenhouse and wife Irene of Southampton PA Amy Booher of Winooski VT and Kerry Kipping and husband Jake of Saranac Lake NY 7 great grandchildren brother Zbygniew Puc of Port Orange sister Wanda Plonka of Burke VA brother Frank Puc of Boca Raton FL and many nieces and nephews. In lieu of Flowers donations may be made to the Epiphany Transportation Ministry c/o Epiphany Catholic Church 201 Lafayette Street Port Orange Florida 32127 Arrangements are under the careful direction of Cardwell Funeral Home Port Orange.
