Kathy Ames, 73, a resident of Palm Coast, Fl. passed away on Wednesday May 23, 2018 in Daytona Beach, Fl.

Kathy was born in Portland, ME on May 17, 1945 to Girard and Katherine Hodgkins, and was the  youngest of their three children.  Her family then moved to East Hartford Connecticut following her father's return from World War II.  She graduated from East Hartford High School with her two lifelong friends, Diane Clark and Dianna Troy.  Early in life Kathy worked at Pratt and Whitney where she met her husband Lewis Ames and started a family. Her family moved to Palm Coast in 1983 where she had resided until her passing.

Kathy was a woman with a big heart who loved her family, friends, and those she worked with. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, reading, card games and mystery novels.  Kathy was a Tax Advisor in Flagler Beach with HR-Block for many years and looked forward to the tax season… and the end of it… each year, as she and Lewis would spend their springs in Pennsylvania.  Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Peter Hodgkins and sister, Patricia Tessier.

Kathy is survived by her husband Lewis, her son Andrew, Grandson Jacob, her nephews Danny Hodgkins and Steve Tessier;  her nieces Jerry-Ann and Karen Hodgkins, and Rhonda, Lisa, Lori, and Karen Ames.

The family will be holding a graveside service for Kathy in Mayport , Pennsylvania, on September 1 , 2018
