A funeral mass for Kathryn "Kay" Anderson Byers who passed away peacefully at home with her family on Saturday February 26 2011 will be held Thursday March 3 2011 at 10:00am at St. Brendan Roman Catholic Church. Kay was born December 3 1914 in New York NY and later attended Rider University in Princeton NJ. On Labor Day weekend of 1937 Kay married her late husband Dr. Joseph C. Anderson after a whirlwind romance. Together they had four children and enjoyed life in Ebensburg PA until his unfortunate passing in 1954. In the summer of 1961 Kay moved to Daytona Beach from Ebensburg with her children and became the owner and operator of The Stowaway Motel on Daytona's Boardwalk. Throughout her years Kay enjoyed traveling the world baseball playing cards and flying small planes. She was a member of St. Brendan Roman Catholic Church and the Daytona Metropolitan Bridge Club. In addition to her husband Kay was predeceased by two of her daughters: Gloria Anderson in 1991 and Sybil Anderson in 1998. She is survived by two children: Guy K. Anderson (Martha) and Ryan Anderson Adams (Bob); eight grandchildren: Ethan Anderson Shannon McMahon (Mike) Ryan Anderson (Heather) Ian Anderson John Adams (Rene) Erin Adams Welch Ryan Adams (Lindsey) and Lauren Buckmaster (Jeremy); eleven great-grandchildren; and lifelong friend and cousin: Suzanne Long (Jim). Adored by friends and family alike Kay will remain in the memories of all as an incredibly caring lady.
