Kathleen Jones, 95, of New Smyrna Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully on August 19, 2025. She was born on June 10, 1930, in Wooster, Ohio, to Carl and Annabelle (Blake) Ernst.

A longtime resident of New Smyrna Beach, Kathleen graduated from New Smyrna High School and went on to dedicate forty-nine years of service as Director of the New Smyrna Beach Housing Authority. Deeply committed to her community, she was also an active member of the Pilot Club and the United Methodist Church. Beyond her professional and civic contributions, Kathleen found joy in collecting antiques.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Monroe Jones, and her sons, John and Gary Swain.

Kathleen is survived by her son, Carl D. (Bonita) Swain; six grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and her niece, Ruth Phaneuf.

Her family wishes to extend heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff of WillowBrook Assisted Living Facility and the VITAS Hospice Team for their devoted care.

A graveside service will be held in Kathleen's honor on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Edgewater-New Smyrna Cemetery.
