Kathleen (Kathy) Edith Conway of Port Orange FL, passed away peacefully on Good Friday, April 15, 2022 at the age of 76. Hers was a life well lived with kindness, care and love for extended family and friends.

Kathy is survived by her sons, Daniel and Dale, daughter-in-law Diana, granddaughters Lauren and Lindsey, and grandson Carter. Kathy was the daughter of Gloria Thompson, the late George Allen Thompson, and the late Helen Gussie Dobosh. She was the sister of William F. Thompson and the late George Thompson, Jr.

Kathy grew up in New York, North Carolina and Daytona Beach, FL. She went to cosmetology school after high school and became a beautician. She married her late husband, Naval Officer Daniel Lynn Conway, Sr. and lived at several Navy bases in the States before moving to Italy for some years. Kathy also lived in St. Louis, MO before returning to Daytona Beach where she raised her children. She worked for 44 years in the accounting department at the family business, Thompson Pump & Mfg. Inc. in Port Orange.

Kathy had a caring soul and could be counted on to bring you food if you were ill or pick up something while at the store if she knew you had an interest in it. She loved red roses, loved to cook, play cards and the lottery, shop, dance, and sew and made lots of her own clothes. Kathy also had a soft heart for animals and had many dogs and cats over the years.

A Celebration of Life will be held on May 25th at 12pm at Lohman Funeral Home, 1201 Dunlawton Ave, Port Orange. She will be interred at Daytona Memorial Park at a private service that same day.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Halifax Humane Society.
