Kathleen Cantine (Kate, Cathy) passed away on May 16, 2015, eleven weeks after first being diagnosed with pancreatic-liver cancer. She was 67. The youngest of six children, Kate was born in Jackson, Michigan, graduating Magna cum laude from Eastern Michigan University with a degree in political science. After 19 years, she retired as the Supervisor of Accounting & Purchasing at the Center For Forensics Psychiatry for the State of Michigan, whereupon she moved to Los Angeles to become the Manager of Disbursements for Columbia Pictures, before retiring for a second time after 8 years. In 2001 she moved to Florida where she enjoyed every day, delightfully describing her 'most fulfilling job' as a cashier and associate of Publix in their DeLand and Deltona stores, serving staff and customers for 12 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, LaVerne and Marguerite (Sutherland) Cantine. She is survived by her siblings, David (Karen) of Edmonton, Canada, Christopher (Judy) of Jackson, MI, Michael (Cindy) of Northumberland, PA, Susan (William) Raynes expatriates, Marguerite (Elizabeth) Cantine of Ocala, FL, and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on June 4th at St. Andrews Chapel in Sanford, FL.
