Karl Louis Hartmann 82, of Palm Coast passed away surrounded by family on October 26, 2015 at Stuart F. Meyer Hospice House. He was born in Camden, NJ on May 31, 1933 to Anna Marie Kelly Hartmann and Louis Hartmann.

He served his country during the Korean War in the United States Air Force. He graduated from the University of Dayton in 1960, followed by a sales career with Minneapolis Honeywell which spanned fifty-seven years. Karl was a top salesman earning many rewards and accolades during his career.

Karl married Emma Shatzer Weller in 1962. She was a widow with three young children. The couple added to their family with two more children.

He resided in Harrisburg, PA, Bowie, MD, Ketchum, OK, and Palm Coast, FL. Hobbies included extensive travel with his wife, Emma, photography, playing Pinochle and visiting his children and grandchildren. Karl was well loved by everyone and turned strangers into friends wherever he went.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Bill, daughter Connie Frederick and grandson Justin Hartmann.

Survivors include his wife of fifty-three years, Emma, two daughters, Arlinda Peyton(Willie) of Mount Airy, MD, Lisa Metcalf(Joe) of Norfolk, NE and two sons, Michael of Sioux Falls, SD, Kevin of Panama City Beach, FL. Niece Debbie Reese(Lee) of Elkridge, MD, fourteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren and two sisters Connie Elliott, Angier, NC and Karen Birk of Hoover, AL and sister-in-law, Betty Hartmann of New Hartford, NY.

Services will be held at Lohman Funeral Home Palm Coast on Friday, November 20, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. Interment following services at Jacksonville National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to the American Heart Association or the Stuart F. Meyer Hospice House in Palm Coast.
