Karen D. Heikka, of Port Orange, Florida passed away on Tuesday, April 6, 2021. She was 59.  Karen was born September 27, 1961 in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Eric and Barbara (Taylor) Hunt.

She was a longtime member of First Baptist Daytona Beach where she loved to teach her Women's Bible Study class. She was a fun loving energetic person that incorporated fun into her lessons, both at church and at New Smyrna Beach Middle School where she taught for 25 years. Some of her favorite memories include trips with family.

She is survived by Her mother Barbara (Taylor) Hunt; children Jennifer (Ron) Mervine and Justin Heikka; sisters Cindy (Hunt) Snyder and Julie (Clint) Crocker; Numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Robert P. Heikka was the father of her children.

Karen was preceded in death by Her father Eric Hunt; nephew Noah Crocker;uncle Robert Taylor; grandparents Marvin(Doreen)Taylor and Albert(Anna) Hunt.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Wednesday April 14th at First Baptist Church Daytona Beach, 10 First Baptist Pkwy, Daytona Beach, Florida 32124.  Pastor Eric Stitts will officiate.
