Karean E. Trail, 72, of Port Orange was called home to the Lord on Thursday, July 4, 2013. A gathering for family and friends will take place on Friday, July 12, 2013 from 5-6 pm at Lohman Funeral Home Port Orange. A Memorial Service will follow promptly at 6:00pm.

Karean was born on April 15, 1941 to parents Elizabeth and Guy Lockhard in historic Gassaway, West Virginia. In 1964, Karean married Lloyd Trail with whom she would have two sons and two daughters. Karean knew the importance of raising a family with God and was very active within the Virginia Presbyterian Church of Pico, Virginia. Karean's gentle spirit, kind heart, and love of children lead her to a career as Bus Assistant for children with developmental challenges.

Karean loved her job and was beloved by those she assisted both here in Volusia County and back home in West Virginia. In 1997, Karean relocated to Florida with her family. In recent years Karean would find the most joy from days spent with either her fellow Red Hat Society Members, her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren, or at the beach.

Karean was predeceased by her granddaughter Brooke. Those left to cherish their memories of Karean are her husband of 49 years, Lloyd Trail; sons, L.P. Trail (Barbara Wren), Mark Trail (Rebecca Gross); daughters, Lori Stack and husband Dennis, Dawn East and husband Gary; grandchildren, Charlee, Amanda, Lyndsey, and Preston; great grandchildren, Logan, Hunter, and Parker.
