Obituary

Justin Eugene White

June 15, 1982 ~ August 5, 2021

Justin Eugene White was born in Topeka, Kansas on June 15, 1982. He moved to the area from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma in 2003. He loved spending time with his family, his pets, Retired Police K9 Rex, his cats Happy and Max, and his rabbit Peter, his friends, and his colleagues with the Port Orange Police Department, and took great pride in homeschooling his four children; Tyler, Savannah, Andrew, and Emily.

He was a 15-Year Veteran Officer of the Port Orange Police Department, who had a passion for serving and protecting the community of Port Orange where he and his wife chose to raise their family. During his tenure, he developed a successful K9 Unit which he managed for 9 years, and became the department's first certified K9 Instructor. He is known as being a mentor to the officers he worked alongside and was a fierce advocate for them as CEO/President of the Port Orange Police Association, IUPA Local 6051, Inc., in which he co-founded in 2017. He loved training dogs and turned that passion into owning and operating a dog training business called Optimum K9, LLC, which he started in 2019. He enjoyed coaching youth sports at the Port Orange Parks and Recreation and the Port Orange YMCA, and traveling.

He graduated from Liberty University in 2018, earning a bachelor's degree in criminal justice, and then went on to earn a Juris Master in American Legal Studies in 2020, studying online.

He was a devout Christian who committed his life to serving the Lord when he was 12 years old. He was a member of Church of the Holy Child in Ormond Beach, Florida for 16 years. His dedication to serving God, his family, his friends, and his community is a true reflection of his good character.

He leaves behind his wife of nearly 17 years, Carlyn, whom he married on August 21, 2004, their four children, Tyler, Savannah, Andrew, and Emily, his mother, Lisa Baker (Victor Baker), his father, Marvin White (Brenda White), his brother, Joshua White, his sister, Danielle White, his grandmother, Wanda Thomson, his two nephews, his two nieces, and his many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by two of his children, whom he and his wife lost due to miscarriages, his sister, Melissa Cole, his brother, Bryan Nicholson, his grandparents, Larry and Ramona White, his grandfather, William Thomson, and his uncle, William Thomson Jr.
