June D. Cormier, of Holly Hill, passed away Wednesday, October 14 at the age of 89. June was born in Groton, Massachusetts to Asael and Leola Deane in 1926. June and her husband Edgar "Chico" came to this area in 1986 and June quickly got involved in the community. She was very active in the American Legion Auxiliary and the D. A.V.A., and also posted many hours of volunteer and charity work for quite a few organizations in both Flagler and Volusia Counties. When June wasn't busy with her volunteer work, she enjoyed a good game of cards or bingo, but her true enjoyment came with time spent with her family. Those left to Cherish June's memory include her two sons, Edgar (Tammi) of Melbourne, Fl. and John of Ormond Beach, her three daughters, Cynthia Corbiel, Fitchburg, Ma., Charmaine (Dave)Loncala, Ormond Beach, and Shari Crapanzano, Daytona Beach, one step daughter, Jackie Marrma, Filchburg, Ma., twenty-six grandchildren, forty-one great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. A memorial service will be held in June's honor at Lohman Funeral Home Daytona on Friday, October 23rd at 10:30 a.m. with a gathering of friends and family one hour prior.
